Alice Hall

Solicitor at Irwin Mitchell

Birmingham, United Kingdom

About Me

I am a solicitor specialising in catastrophic injury cases, mostly involving:

  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Amputation
  • Very significant orthopaedic injuries

I joined Irwin Mitchell in September 2013 after having graduated from the University in Birmingham. I joined as a Paralegal, before being offered a training contract. I qualified into the Serious Injury Team in 2017.

I am an APIL accredited Litigator and have been published in the NR Times. I was awarded “Young Achiever of the Year” at the PI Awards 2020.

I sit on two national boards relating to traumatic brain injury and rehabilitation.

Notable cases -

  • I was instructed on behalf of a client who transferred her claim to Irwin Mitchell from another firm of solicitors. At the time of her injury, she was a university student and a single parent. She was involved in a road traffic collision and sustained orthopaedic and psychiatric injuries as a result. She subsequently developed Somatic Symptom Disorder. When the case was eventually settled at a joint settlement meeting, settlement was reached for around 16 times the value that her previous solicitor had estimated. I subsequently involved our Court of Protection and Asset Management teams to assist my client in opening a Trust to look after her finances and to provide support in terms of managing her settlement and purchasing a property.
  • I acted for a client who suffered a head injury, serious orthopaedic injuries and internal injuries as a result of a road traffic collision. My client subsequently went on to develop a relatively rare complication from having had to have a tracheostomy during her acute treatment phase, known as tracheal stenosis. She required significant ongoing medical and surgical interventions. Settlement was ultimately reached at a joint settlement meeting for a seven figure sum. My client has subsequently been supported by our Court of Protection, Asset Management and Conveyancing teams in the management of her settlement and the purchase of a suitable property.
  • I was instructed on behalf of a client who sustained a spinal cord injury in an accident at work. The seven figure settlement will give our client the financial security to ensure that his care and rehabilitation needs are met for life.
