I am a senior medical negligence solicitor based in London. Originally from North Wales, I worked at law firms in Australia before training at a Tier1 Regional Law Firm. I have 16 years' experience specialising in civil litigation and inquests. I represent children, adults and families in legal investigations and compensation actions arising from death or life-changing injuries.
My caseload focuses on representing children and adults with brain injuries as well amputations, spinal injuries and complex obstetric claims of the highest value including cerebral palsy, neonatal death and stillbirth cases. I advise on medical cases involving psychiatric harm, 'secondary victims' and support the families of deceased patients in civil investigations and at Inquests. I represent patients in delay in diagnosing cancer cases, neurological injuries, vascular surgery, orthopaedics and obstetrics/gynaecology.
I have gained experience in Human Rights Act claims as well as medical law and ethics cases concerning “best interests” treatment decisions, and treatment withdrawal cases.
I was Solicitor of The Year Finalist at the 2019 Legal Awards. I am recognised in the Legal Guides for my work. I take pride in sensitively supporting families in search of answers, or in need of vital rehabilitation, care or equipment.
I am on the management board of trustees for the national charity, Disabled Living (Kidz Events, Redbank House and Bowel&Bladder UK).
I work closely with disability charities in the UK, providing bespoke legal training and fundraising activities. I have lectured at universities and provided training for the Royal College of GPs, Spinal Injuries Association and Pennine Care NHS.
